I'll never forget the time when I was teaching meditation to students at the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit -- a highly competitive, elite college for ambitious art students.
I met with each student one-on-one to introduce them to their mantra in a sacred ceremony.
In one of the sessions, a very anxious and tightly-wound student walked into the room to receive his mantra with me.
He sat with me and I recited the Sanskrit chant and guided him in using his mantra.
After meditating with his mantra for a few minutes, he froze for a moment.
Sitting in stillness with a stunned look on his face, he whispered to me...
"I never knew I could feel this way. I feel so good!"
